On FALLING: Part 3

For decades I’ve been studying the Golden Ratio… its appearance in God’s nature, timeless pieces of artwork, architecture, and the universe as a whole… with my focus on it’s appearance and strengths in dynamic movements of the martial arts.

Performed to their apex… particular throws, kicks, and weaponry flow… especially those of efficiency and devastatingly violent nature…

In this pursuit I’ve come to realize the “spiral” involved in the ratio’s power… this term “spiral” and the term “spiraling” were realized to me in their opposing natures and definitions, just today. At church today, a guest pastor was speaking to “spiraling”… something I’ve become very aware of in my own therapy over the past several years… anxiety, stress, fear, hurt, all fuel this very real experience.

Now, in reference to last week’s blog where I spoke to falling forward… this pastor spoke to choosing to “spiral” upward.

Just as I had mentioned falling forward as an opportunity, so as spiraling upward and outward as opportunity.

In the martial arts, the use of the spiral, golden ratio, will begin with an inward or appearance of imploding spiral… or loading… this is very similar to things that seem to make us spiral inward or implode emotionally… yet the difference in the arts, that helps in understanding to “trust the process” or “exist in the flow”, is to then just “let go” of that compressed force, and let the technique be what it is… beautiful.

So in your own spiraling, falling, imploding… trust that you’re right where you need to be feeling it all… but DO NOT hold that! Let it go… open up, spiral outward and upward… your beauty and beautiful life await!

Let it go!

Let it flow!
