Perspective...

I've been speaking to opportunity quite a bit recently... and yes, it can be found in the good, the bad, and the ugly places in life. Yet, perspective, the lens you're looking through for the opportunity, is so important. To what end are you rising to the opportunity? Are you following your why? Your calling? Are you still serving? Check yourself... It's very easy to chase the opportunity to fulfill something that is, on the surface, lacking in your life... money, relationship, accolades, recognition.... do those things serve your calling? It may be easy to answer "Well yes, John, they do... because without them. I am not complete, or able to move forward to seve in the way I want to..."... And there's the rub... the "serving in the way YOU want to"... this may not truly align with how you are truly called to serve. Find that thing you love and lose yourself in as it serves others... and let it kill you. By "kill you".. include your ego, your selfish wants, your accolades and your public perception. Staying in that place is difficult... just like showing up for yourself in the gym, day after day, month after month, year after year... during the good and the bad... stay in the humble servant's role... give more than you take, love more than you hate. But, HEY! Where's the bad-ass, take no prisoners, kcik you in the balls John Brown? Right F'n here... and as much as I'm a student and master of martial arts, fitness, combatives, and violence... I've come to live in a space where all that I do in the dark is for the love of service... saving those not capable of doing for themselves, or educating them to do the same... to enlighten with empowerment. We're in a war y'all... want to be or not... we are. Good/Evil... since the dawn of time... it's right in front of you. What are you going to do? Who are you going to be? How are you going to serve? Love is not always represented by the passive lamb... when HE returns.. HE's depicted with a sword in HIS teeth, blood on his robe, and tattooed on his leg... Don't confuse love as weak, and light as "lightness"... it's heavy shining in the dark.

Let's rise tribe... we can do better!!!
